Drum & Bugle Bands have been very much a part of the way of life for those in The Boys' & Girls’ Brigades over the years.
Members of The Bugles & Drums of The Stedfast Association (BADOTSA) have that sense of history and past running through them. Many were members of active bands throughout their Brigade careers, moving on to be either Bandmaster or instructors.
The band was started in 2000 by former members of The Boys' Brigade in London, to help celebrate the Millennium. The band was previously known, as the London Stedfast Association Bugle Band or "LSABB".
On 1st January 2008, the band changed its name to its current one, in recognition that bands Members, who all give their time freely, come from all over the United Kingdom as well as with 1 member from Germany.
The band made its fourth appearance in the prestigious annual City of London, Lord Mayor's Show Parade, which is televised each November by BBC1 TV on 11th November 2017. That occasion saw a band of 60 players participating.
Who can join? All Old Boys, ex-Officers, still serving Officers, friends and supporters – provided you are over 18 years of age.
Many serving Officers find their membership of the group to be a valuable extra dimension to their "BB" work and many of our members are ladies - all are welcome! Members are there to assist current BB & GB Bands with both advice & instruction.
