The band currently has around 80 members with an average age of 40. The band would like to hear from more people who would be interested in joining us, especially those aged 18-30; but if you are older, we would still warmly welcome you!
We have already attracted several younger members amongst our new recruits, and we are especially pleased to welcome buglers, drummers, and bell-lyre players from all over the UK.
Practice Venues
We meet regularly at various locations throughout the UK to enable players living all over the country to take part. Our recent practice days have been held near Birmingham, Reading, Sawston, Stafford and Peterborough.
We are always looking for venues that have large halls, car parks for marching practice and maybe near a town centre when we have an opportunity to give a short performance. We usually have a meal together and take time for socialising. Practice days are good fun and it's always nice to meet up.
For further information on joining the band please fill in and return our Members Joining Form below or contact us via info@badotsa.co.uk.
Please see our Diary page for dates of full band practice sessions. As band members live far and wide, we try where possible to have a number of local practice centres in addition to 'all' meeting together periodically, car-pooling where possible.
Practice at Felden
"When you get to a certain age, thoughts inevitably turn to happy days of the past.
The Boys' Brigade was an important element in my youth, providing the guidance, support, friendship and training which helped to shape me in my formative years.
One of the best aspects was playing in the bugle band. What a brilliant idea, therefore, to form a band of those enthusiastic old boys who remember with gratitude what the BB did for them, and who would like to put a little something back.
Thank you, Stedfast Association, for giving me the chance to play and march again!"
Ian T. Ex 1st Thurso & 73rd London
